Future Industries Report

Rethinking how we invest in innovation and what it will take to build systems that last.

Innovation is often framed as progress by default. In reality, many innovation efforts struggle to deliver lasting value, especially in a world defined by tightening resources, growing complexity, and mounting systemic risk. The Future Industries Report explores why innovation has failed to live up to its promise, and what it will take to build better systems for the long term.

Titled The Power & Peril of Innovation: How we can (and why we should) build better systems, together, the report examines the tension between ambition and constraint, and why the next era of innovation must be designed differently.

The report explores how ventures designed to operate within planetary boundaries can generate stronger, more resilient long-term outcomes. It outlines five critical areas where today’s systems break down, and how addressing barriers across these areas, in an integrated way, can unlock systemic change. Rather than isolated solutions, the report makes the case for coordinated action that has the potential to create exponential impact.

Beyond diagnosis, the report is grounded in action. It previews practical recommendations, emerging opportunities, and pathways for starting now, even in constrained environments. This is not innovation as usual. It’s an argument for building the systems that will outlast us, and a call to do that work together.
